2/8/2013 - Almost 400,000 taxpayers opt for Zoomit

Dutch consumers prefer to receive, pay and manage their electronic bills in a single place.

Since 2012, when filing their tax declaration, taxpayers have been able to ask to receive their assessment notice via Zoomit. Last year this option proved to be an immediate success, with over 253,000 taxpayers signing up. This year 391,433 requests have already been made, an increase of over 50% compared to last year’s already successful result of 253,000 requests. These are taxpayers who indicated either via Tax-on-Web or via My Minfin that they wish to receive their tax assessment notice via Zoomit.

Zoomit is a free service, included in internet banking, with which you can quickly and more easily manage your invoices, payments and credit notes. Since 2012 the FPS Finance has worked with it to manage the tax assessment notices. Until last year Zoomit applied only for citizens, as of this year it is also open for mandatories.

Minister Geens: "The tax declaration process is becoming steadily more modern. The fact that almost 400,000 taxpayers have chosen to receive and manage their assessment notices via Zoomit is a great success, and yet another example of how we are responding to real needs with the modernisation of the tax declaration process"

27/6/2013 - Consumers prefer to access their electronic invoices in a single place

Dutch consumers prefer to receive, pay and manage their electronic bills in a single place.

They prefer logging on a single site to access their different invoices. They think it is tedious to visit several sites and they are annoyed to retain different passwords. More than 500 Dutch between 18 and 80 years old were questioned about how they maintain control of their finances. This study demonstrates three important facts:

  • One Third of respondents prefer to receive their invoices electronically and pay them quickly.
  • One Third of respondents receiving their bills via email say that their bills are lost in the mass of emails they receive.
  • The 25-34 age group particularly want to receive all their Internet invoices in a personal location.

The platform "Smarter Finance" is an initiative of the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands. It provides citizens with advice and financial information to help them better manage their personal finances.
